How are you keeping children safe during the COVID-19 outbreak?
Procedures and a risk assessment have been developed in line with advice from Gov.uk on running clubs and indoor leisure activities. These are regularly reviewed and communication kept open with parents/carers to keep them informed. Please find a link to the latest COVID-19 risk assessment at the foot of this page. If you have any questions or concerns then please do get in touch.
Can all children attend Flourish Yoga classes?
Classes are open to all. Do ask if you wish to discuss your child’s particular needs to make sure that everyone can be successfully included. Age ranges for classes are used to ensure that different developmental stages are catered for. Occasionally, yoga classes aren't the right thing for your child right now. If this is the case we can discuss the different options available.
How do I pay?
Currently, classes are paid for at the end of each half term block. Payments should be made by bank transfer (please message me for info). Missed the start of term? No worries! Your child can join once term has already started as long as there is a space.
What are your terms & conditions?
In the unlikely event that I have to cancel a class then I will contact you as soon as I can so that arrangements can be made and you will not be charged. If you do not attend a session then you will be charged as I will still incur the costs of running the session. Do contact me to discuss this if your circumstances make this problematic. Thank you for your understanding with these terms which enable me, as a very small business, to function sustainably.
What should my child wear?
Children should wear comfortable clothing such as track suits, shorts, leggings, t-shirts and vest tops that allow for movement. In colder weather please make sure your child has an extra top layer such as a jumper to ensure that they keep warm when we meditate. For safety children need to have bare feet during the sessions.
Does my child need to bring their own yoga mat?
For hygeine reasons children should bring a yoga mat with them to class. We will always have a few spare for beginners or for those that might have forgotten theirs that week. Mats can be bought cheeply from many high street shops and online. We have always used www.yogamatters.com and can recocommend them for quality and value.
How do I enrol my child?
Before attending your first class it is essential that you complete a registration form for your child. This can be emailed to me prior to the class or brought on the day. This ensures that we know any needs that your child may have and that we have your contact information in case of an emergency. Once you have registered it is your responsibility to notify us of any changes. Follow the link below to download a registration form.
What qualifications do you have?
I have completed Foundation and Advanced Children's Yoga training in addition to being a qualified Primary School Teacher (MaEd Exeter Uni). I hold an up to date First Aid qualification, DBS certificate, Safeguarding training and have the appropriate insurance to run yoga classes for children. If you would like to see proof of any of my qualifications then please do not hesitate to ask. I am more than happy to help.
